Sewing for injured wildlife

Sarndra Joey Pouch

This week saw an incredible show of community spirit and generosity in our Noosa Makerspace. Our resident sewer, Sarndra, offered her expertise, time and resources to host a sewing bee making pouches for injured wildlife. On the morning of the workshop Sarndra learnt that the pouch pattern she had planned to sew with everyone was no longer needed by wildlife rescue groups. She learnt on the spot how to sew large joey pouches which were in need. Sarndra and her group of 16 sewers made a total of 17 pouches for joeys. These will be donated to wildlife organisations in need
