Noosa Libraries offers a number of ways to get involved. We provide opportunities for volunteers to assist with literacy training, selecting books to be delivered to home library clients and assisting with local studies, heritage and genealogy.
Noosa Libraries values the involvement of volunteers in assisting to deliver a wide range of programs that enhance the libraries’ services to the community.
Volunteering
Adult Literacy Tutors
Adult Literacy Tutors deliver one-on-one support, or are involved in group classes, to assist adults in improving their basic literacy, numeracy or English language skills. Recruitment of volunteer tutors for this program occurs every 12-18 months. Tutors are required to undertake a free course in Community Adult Literacy Tutoring before commencing their tutoring role.
Home Library Service
Volunteers select and deliver library items to members of the community who are unable to personally visit the library.
Noosa Libraries offer a free bespoke delivery service to housebound members of the community and people living in residential facilities.
Our volunteers assist in the selection of materials, based on user preferences and may assist with delivery.
