The BookShelf is a curated collection of popular and recently published fiction, non-fiction and junior books in an easy-to-use self-service kiosk. Using your Noosa Libraries library card, you can browse, borrow and return items at your convenience.

How do I use the BookShelf?

  1. Scan your Noosa Libraries card to open the kiosk.
  2. Choose what you want to borrow or return. BookShelf items can be returned inside the kiosk or to the adjacent returns bin.
  3. Press the green button to close the door. Your loans and/or returns are automatically registered to your card.

Yes – you can join up on the spot by using the QR code on the BookShelf

What is the loan period?

Standard loan period of 3 weeks

Can I see what is in the BookShelf before visiting?

Yes, you can browse items currently available via the library catalogue.

Can I reserve and pick up items from the BookShelf?

No. You can reserve and pick-up items from the Mobile Library when they visit the location. Mobile Library Timetable

What collections are available?

Recent popular adult, young adult and children’s fiction and non-fiction

Are audio and audio-visual items be available?

No. You can reserve these items to pick up from the Mobile Library when they visit the location. Mobile Library Timetable

Want to see what you have borrowed?

You can log in to your Noosa Library Service online account to see your current loans.

Has the BookShelf replaced the Mobile Library’s visit to Peregian or Pomona?

No, the BookShelf service is in addition to the Mobile Library’s weekly stop at Peregian and Pomona. The Mobile Library visits Peregian every Friday from 1-4pm and Pomona from 9am-12noon every Saturday. See the full Mobile Library Timetable for more information about stops.

A BookShelf is located in the foyer of the Peregian Beach Community House and accessible during opening hours:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 9am-2pm.
