Borrowing is easy:
Browse the Library of Things collection at Noosaville Library during opening hours with an adult membership or join the library (members must be aged over 18 to borrow Things).
When borrowing a Thing:
- You will be required to sign a Waiver and be responsible for safe use of the item(s) and for any damage or loss.
- You can borrow up to two Things at a time.
- Loans are for a three-week loan period. Reduced loan periods apply if the item is reserved by other members.
- The Library of Things is only available at Noosaville Library during opening hours.
- All items must be returned at Noosaville Library.

Things are items that you can loan from Noosa Libraries for free. Items have been chosen to meet resident and visitor needs and may be items borrowers wish to try before they buy or borrow so they buy less.
Borrowing is only available from Noosaville Library, 7 Wallace Drive, Noosaville in opening hours. You may browse the online catalogue to reserve an item and be notified when it is available to collect.
Items in this collection are in high demand, so we ask that borrowers return them on the due date. We hope you enjoy your loan and invite you to reserve the item to enjoy again.
Adult members 18+ are eligible to borrow items. This includes adult residents and visitors. A full adult membership is required. Online members must become full adult members to loan items.
Waivers are a requirement for each loan to ensure the borrower is aware of their responsibilities including safe use and responsibility for any loss or damages. Noosa Libraries requires use by physically capable and competent person(s). Should an injury occur whilst using an item, please seek immediate medical care. View the full wavier here.
Things come with manuals or guidelines where these are provided by the manufacturer. They are there to guide you in operation and use. There is no induction provided for the equipment.
Items are checked prior to each loan and to ensure they are in working condition. Please consult manufacturer guidelines to assist with use. Should you still experience issues, please report upon return of the item.
Do not continue to use an item if it is damaged during use. Please report damage to staff when returning the item. Safe use is the responsibility of the user and due care is a requirement with each loan.
The Library of Things is being trialled at Noosaville Library in the first year, to enable a full assessment of the new collection prior to any potential expansion. We welcome your feedback, however, please note we cannot facilitate collection or return of items at Cooroy Library or the Mobile Library at this time.
You can return the item in opening hours at Noosaville Library. Please note, borrowers must return the item to staff member and allow time for checking kit contents and condition. To avoid complications, borrowers should return loaned items, rather than family members or friends.
Items cannot be returned through the after hours returns shute or the returns shelves inside the library.
Each Thing comes with a checklist of items so that you can ensure you are returning a complete kit.
