Storytime Storytime


 

Introduce your children to language, literature and the library, and lay the foundations for a lifelong love of reading. Join us for Storytime at the library, and make reading an everyday part of life by sharing stories at home.  To maximise the benefits of storytime you need to listen to the stories with your children and participate in the activities.  
Storytime sessions run from February to December during school terms.  Session times in 2019 are

 Babes in Arms (for babies up to 12 months, parents and carers) 

Join us for 30 minutes of nursery rhymes, songs and gentle movement activities. Learn those old traditional songs, and some new ones too, in a friendly and relaxing group.

Wriggle, Giggle, Read (for toddlers up to 3 years)

This session caters for changes in children’s development as they grow, and includes active stories, songs and rhymes, followed by shared play time.

Storytime (Preschoolers)

Stories, songs and purposeful play for under 5's, their parents or carers. This session consists of singing, rhyming, reading and age relevant creative play.
